It can be rather confusing when comparing different snore guards and trying to find the best device for stopping snoring. Often there is conflicting information and so many claims of “our mouthpiece is the best on the market”. So how do you compare all of the options to make the best decision? To help with sorting it all out watch the following video.
As mentioned in the video most of the snoring devices on the market are a one size fits all solution that may or may not stop your snoring. In fact our studies have shown that a one size fits all device (which is usually set at a position that move your lower jaw forward 50%) only works really well in about 30-35% of snorers. This is because every person’s anatomy is different and the lower jaw position to stop snoring is slightly different for each individual.
When the lower jaw is moved forward the tongue also moves forward and out of the way. The tongue is the main culprit in snoring because as you fall asleep the tongue relaxes and falls back toward the soft palate and the back of the airway. When it falls back enough to block the airflow then the soft tissues in the back of the mouth and throat start vibrate, causing the noise we call snoring.
So the position of your lower jaw and tongue is critical to having a noise-free night’s sleep. If you don’t keep the lower jaw in the correct position while sleeping then the snoring is not stopped or at best only partially reduced. That is why an adjustable customized snoring mouthpiece works the best. As discussed in the video, in the past the only option available that met this criteria was a dentist made snoring device. But now there is a solution available that is affordable for everyone.

Hi I have sleep apnea. I have been tested. I have a cepap machine, cant wait to get rid of it. I have a parshal upper and a parshal botton denture, can I use your mouth piece.I will be willing to sleep with my dentured in alnight, if that would help me wear your mouth piece. thanks.. Carol… I live In Brantford Ont. Canada
Posted by carol hunter | 29. Aug, 2011, 2:57 amThe Ultimate Stop Snoring Solution mouthpieces can work with removable partials to help control sleep apnea. The partials must have good retention, i.e., the partials should have clasps that connect to your remaining natural teeth in such a way that the partials stay in place and do not slip forward or backward. If the partials tend to move up and down and do not stay seated on your remaining natural teeth, then you would need to wear the partials at night with a denture adhesive to ensure that they stay in place while wearing our mouthpieces.
We have had many customers who have tried our product for mild to moderate sleep apnea and have had good success with controlling their apnea. If your apnea is in the severe range, oral appliances such as these can help but may not be as effective as CPAP.
Best regards,
Dr. Don
