Snoring Remedies: Surgery as a Snoring Solution
In desperate times, many people have turned to
surgical procedures to solve their snoring issues. There are several
types of invasive surgeries that are promoted as be-all end-all
snoring cures.
The reality of the matter is that these
operations are not as effective as some in the medical field would
like you to believe. Many people have been incredibly disappointed
that these expensive procedures often result in only marginal
improvements. Here is a list of several anti-snoring procedures and
information about their effectiveness.

Uvulopalatopharyngoplasty
This anti-snoring procedure (also known as
UPPP) involves removing the tonsils and pieces of the uvula and soft
palate. The theory is that removing these structures allows more
room for air to pass out of the body and less tissue that can
vibrate and create snoring sounds.
Most patients experience results immediately
after the surgery has been completed. Unfortunately, several studies
have shown that about half of the people who undergo UPPP will
resume snoring to some degree within a few years.
Laser-Assisted
Uvulopalatoplasty
Laser-assisted uvulopalatoplasty (or LAUP) is a
cheap snoring remedy that is often used in place of UPPP. Lasers are
used to dissolve soft palate and shorten the uvula. The procedure is
carried out under a local anesthetic and is recommended for those
who have already had their tonsils taken out.
A group of researchers recently followed over
700 LAUP patients in the months that followed their surgery. Their
results showed that a significant number of patients began snoring
again in less than two years, and only 55% of these people’s
housemates were satisfied with the results. Another study proved
that over 12% of people who underwent LAUP snored louder than they
had before the surgery!
Cautery-Assisted
Uvulopalatoplasty
CAUP is very similar to LAUP, but instead of a
laser the surgeon uses cautery tools (such as an electrode or hot
wire) to burn away the majority of the uvula. Studies show that CAUP
and LAUP yield nearly identical results. Surprisingly, this method
is the least painful of the three mentioned in this article. UPPP
and LAUP patients experience a great deal more pain in the months
following their surgeries.
Anti snoring devices are still one of the most effective ways
available to cure snoring problems. Snoring mouthpieces can fit any
mouth, and the
Ultimate Stop Snoring Solution is guaranteed to stop 99% of your
snoring. Many people are misled to believe that surgery is the best
way to end snoring for good. These “snoring remedies” may work for a
few people, but they are nowhere near as effective as the Ultimate
Stop Snoring Solution. Our snoring mouthpiece has acted as a
permanent snoring remedy for many people.
